Job summary

Ōura is seeking an experienced Flex DFM Engineer to drive manufacturing processes with a focus on flex/rigid-flex PCBA and critical components. This hybrid role sits at the interface of R&D, supply chain, and manufacturing to de-risk builds and ramp suppliers on time and quality in the SF area.

The role requires 5+ years in PCB manufacturing, deep knowledge of flex substrates, IPC/JEDEC standards, and hands-on experience with panel design and supplier audits.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in PCB manufacturing or industrializing PCB suppliers.
• Knowledge of flex design rules, industry capability and processes.
• SME in flex substrate fabrication with IPC/JEDEC familiarity.
• Experience with PCB panel design optimization and cost/capacity tradeoffs.
• Understanding drilling, etching, masking, plating, lamination and testing.

Responsibilities

• Execute DFM based on PCB supplier fabrication limits and guide layout optimizations.
• Maintain PCB design guidelines and the design rule roadmap for flex PCBs.
• Audit PCB suppliers and define criteria to ensure high quality.
• Analyze defects and lead improvements across the supply chain.
• Hold suppliers accountable through root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Lead vendor development projects and review design feedback for improvements.
• Qualify vendor sites and lines for smooth NPI to mass production ramp.
