Job summary

RSG LANDSCAPING, LLC is seeking a skilled Lead Mechanic to supervise a shop team and oversee maintenance for a diverse fleet including light and heavy equipment. You will diagnose engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems, implement preventive maintenance, and ensure safety compliance across worksites.

The role emphasizes leadership, hands-on expertise, and efficient coordination with vendors to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on mechanical experience in automotive and heavy equipment
• Leadership or supervisory experience in a shop or fleet environment
• Knowledge of gasoline/diesel engines, electrical systems, hydraulics, and drivetrains
• Ability to read manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics
• Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred but not required)

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team of mechanics and technicians
• Diagnose, repair, and maintain a diverse fleet including light/medium-duty trucks, small engines, and heavy equipment
• Develop and manage preventive maintenance schedules
• Maintain service records and parts documentation
• Coordinate parts ordering, inventory, and vendor services
• Ensure shop safety and compliance with standards
• Assist with equipment evaluations and replacements
