Job summary

The City of Scottsdale is seeking an experienced mechanic for maintenance and repair of a broad range of automotive and heavy-duty equipment, including welding. The role includes training and leading junior Fleet workers in daily tasks and projects.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED and at least seven years of relevant experience. A CDL and ASE certifications are preferred, and Arizona-specific licensing requirements apply.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Seven years of experience as a mechanic in automotive, heavy-duty trucks and equipment, transit buses and/or mobile equipment maintenance and repair.
• Experience with diverse automotive and heavy equipment maintenance is required.

Responsibilities

• Performs skilled maintenance and repairs on a wide variety of automotive and heavy-duty trucks and equipment, including welding.
• Trains and performs lead worker responsibilities for lower-level Fleet workers.
