Job summary

The City of Scottsdale's Fleet Management Division seeks a skilled Fleet Mechanic to maintain and repair a diverse municipal fleet including gasoline and diesel vehicles, trucks, and transit buses. You will diagnose issues, perform routine servicing, and ensure safe operation.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and at least five years of automotive/heavy-duty experience. A valid driver's license and tool set are required; ASE/EVT certifications qualify for extra compensation.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required; five years of diverse automotive, heavy-duty truck and equipment or transit bus mechanics experience.
Must possess training, education and experience equivalent to five years in diverse automotive, heavy-duty truck and equipment or transit bus mechanics and maintenance.
Must possess and maintain a valid, unrestricted driver's license with no major citations within the past 36 months.

Responsibilities

Perform maintenance and repairs on a wide variety of automotive, heavy-duty truck and equipment, and transit buses.
Diagnostic, maintenance and repair work on municipal vehicles and equipment to ensure safe, reliable operation.
Service gasoline/diesel vehicles, light/heavy-duty trucks, emergency response vehicles, construction equipment and transit buses.
