Job summary

City of Scottsdale seeks a temporary Street Operations – Asphalt & Maintenance worker to operate heavy equipment for pavement maintenance. This two-year assignment may extend based on department needs.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of related experience. A valid, unrestricted CDL is required; Class A may be required within six months. Arizona residency is expected during active employment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One year of asphalt pavement maintenance, signs, or markings or related experience.
• Must possess a valid, unrestricted Commercial Driver License (CDL); Class is dependent on assignment and will be subject to unannounced alcohol and drug testing as required by law.

Responsibilities

• Perform semi-skilled heavy equipment operation in pavement maintenance.
• Comply with licensing, certification and testing requirements as applicable.
• Coordinate with street operations team to ensure safety and quality of maintenance work.
