Job summary

City of Austin's Fleet Mobility Services seeks a skilled Fleet Equipment Technician III to repair and maintain Automotive, Heavy Equipment, and trailers across city fleets. You will perform complex engine tune-ups, brake and hydraulic system work, wheel alignments, and preventive maintenance in a busy service center.

Requires a high school diploma and four years of related experience; strong mechanical aptitude, ability to read manuals, and valid Texas driver’s license with CDL within 120 days.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with four years' related experience.
• Automotive certification or college credit may substitute for experience.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Performs complex gasoline and diesel engine tune-ups and overhauls.
• Repairs engines, transmissions, hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Disassembles, services, reassembles, and reinstalls vehicle components.
• Performs wheel alignments on heavy equipment and maintains records.
