Job summary

Veolia North America, LLC in Hackensack, NJ seeks an Acting Supervisor for the VWNJ fleet to oversee 400+ vehicles and drive maintenance performance and cost control. You will lead ASE-certified mechanics, ensure safety and accuracy of the inventory system, and report KPIs to Transportation management while pursuing industry best practices.

Required: CDL B, NJ vehicle inspector license within 1 year; ASE certification preferred; competitive salary ($100,000–$110,000/year) and comprehensive

Qualifications

• Strong managerial and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proficiency in Google Suite; specifically Sheets, Pages and Slides.
• Must be able to read complex reports.
• Write detailed reports and prepare presentations.
• Learn new technological advances in auto/truck fleet maintenance technique and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise VWNJ fleet maintenance work.
• Track maintenance and repair costs per vehicle.
• Oversee digital inventory system and bar coded inventory.
• Oversee training of personnel in WO Management System.
• Implement inventory control during HXGN transition.
• Maintain stock cataloging and pricing with Transportation SOPs.
• Manage fuel inventory and consumption for ~$2M annual spend.
• Assist management with on-site bulk petroleum deliveries and reporting.
• Lead ASE certified mechanics and shop staff.
• Prepare and present KPIs to Transportation Manager monthly.
• Stay updated on fleet management technologies and practices.
• Collaborate with departments to optimize vehicle usage.
