The City of Chicago seeks a Manager of Vehicle Maintenance to oversee the repair and preventive maintenance of City automotive and heavy equipment, supervise trades staff, and ensure safe, efficient shop operations. You will review schedules, monitor work orders, enforce OSHA safety procedures, manage outside vendors, and coordinate with facilities on garage maintenance and environmental compliance.

This exempt, on-site role requires flexibility for on-call duties and possible evening hours,

Qualifications

• Seven years of work experience in repair and maintenance of automotive, trucking and heavy-duty off-road equipment, with supervisory experience.
• Graduation with Associate's degree plus five years of relevant experience, or Bachelor's with three years, or Master's with two years, all with supervisory experience.

Responsabilités

• Direct skilled trades personnel for preventive maintenance and repair of City equipment.
• Review and approve work schedules and staffing assignments.
