Job summary

Brightspeed, based in Charlotte, NC, seeks a Senior Accountant, Fixed Assets to manage capital asset additions, disposals, and transfers and to support the month-end close for a multi-billion dollar fiber network. You will partner with business finance to ensure accurate accounting and GAAP compliance.

Responsibilities include maintaining the SAP asset subledger, preparing fixed assets reports, and ensuring proper reconciliations and controls while supporting external audits and internal

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 5–8 years of hands-on Fixed Assets accounting experience.
• Experience with SAP.
• CPA designation preferred.
• Experience organizing and analyzing large volumes of data and deploying automation tools.
• Proficiency with database tools and financial reporting packages.
• Clear communicator capable of explaining complex concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Ownership and accountability with deadline-driven responsibilities.
• Adaptable to changing business environment.

Responsibilities

• Review and process all capital asset additions, disposals, and transfers.
• Maintain and close the SAP asset subledger and monitor aging balances for assets under construction.
• Prepare monthly/quarterly/annual Fixed Assets reports.
• Analyze income statements and balance sheets for fluctuations.
• Reconcile fixed asset subledger to general ledger with supporting documentation.
• Calculate and record capitalized labor and capitalized interest.
• Enhance analysis processes and controls.
• Support internal management reporting, GAAP reporting, and external audits.
• Collaborate with key business partners and support special projects.
