Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Senior Fisheries (Passage) Engineer to support water resources, dams and hydropower projects from Bellevue, WA or Portland, OR with a hybrid work schedule. You will lead technical execution of fish screening and passage infrastructure, mentor staff, and engage clients and regulators across regions.

You will advise on design approaches, manage deliverables, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to strengthen our market position in the Pacific Northwest and beyond.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Environmental Engineering from an accredited institution. Masters preferred.
• 10+ years of professional experience in fish passage and screening engineering for water resources, dams and hydropower projects.
• Existing Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and/or California professional engineer registration (P.E.) or ability to obtain all within 6 months of starting work.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Senior Technical Resource, Technical Lead and/or Engineer of Record for fish passage and screening infrastructure with responsibility for leading/reviewing projects.
• Provide SME and technical advisory leadership for fisheries infrastructure.
• Plan, organize, and manage production of project deliverables for on-time delivery and within budget.
• Serve as the project's fisheries engineering point of contact with clients, agencies, and others.
• Mentor and direct developing professionals to guide their execution of work and career development.
• Manage and/or review team’s work and provide technical guidance on design approaches.
