Job summary

Stanislaus County’s Behavioral Health & Recovery Services Department seeks a Manager I/II/III to lead the Fiscal/Administrative Division. The role combines accounting expertise with strategic oversight, guiding grant accounting, budget development, and fiscal compliance to safeguard public funds.

The ideal candidate will mentor a team of Accountant II and III, partner with program managers, and drive data-driven improvements across processes in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in public or business administration, accounting, finance, contract management or related field.
• Experience in public sector budgeting and grant accounting preferred.
• Strong analytical and communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and oversight for the Fiscal/Administrative Division.
• Supervise Accountant II and III staff and partner with program managers on fiscal performance.
• Ensure fiscal integrity, regulatory compliance, and sound stewardship of public funds.
• Oversee grant accounting for a large annual portfolio and monitor contracts.
