Job summary

Orionplacement is seeking an experienced first-party property attorney for a fully remote Texas-based role. You will independently manage first-party property litigation from inception to resolution, advise clients, draft pleadings, handle depositions, and oversee trials as needed.

Required are a J.D., active Texas Bar, 5+ years of attorney experience and 3+ years in direct first-party property litigation. Salary ranges $150k–$200k with benefits and a remote-friendly practice.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Active Texas Bar membership in good standing.
• 5+ years of attorney experience.
• 3+ years of direct first-party property litigation experience.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage first-party property litigation matters from inception through resolution.
• Develop litigation strategy and provide practical legal advice to clients.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, subpoenas, correspondence, briefs, and other legal documents.
• Take and defend depositions and prepare witnesses for testimony.
• Handle hearings, mediations, conferences, arbitrations, and trials as appropriate.
• Analyze insurance policies, property claims, damages, expert reports, and supporting documentation.
• Conduct investigations, interviews, document review, and legal research.
• Prepare exhibits and case materials for depositions, hearings, and trial.
• Evaluate cases for settlement and negotiate resolutions when appropriate.
• Maintain regular client communication regarding case developments, exposure, and strategy.
• Manage deadlines and a litigation caseload with a high degree of independence.
