Job summary

Orion Placement is seeking an experienced Texas attorney for a fully remote first-party property litigation role. You will own matters from inception to resolution and interact directly with clients.

You must be licensed in Texas with 5+ years of attorney experience and 3+ years in first-party property disputes; the position offers high autonomy, substantial depositions, hearings, and a performance-based bonus.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Active Texas Bar membership in good standing.
• 5+ years of attorney experience.
• 3+ years of direct first-party property litigation experience.
• Proven ability to independently manage first-party property cases.
• Strong deposition, discovery, motion practice, and legal writing experience.
• Knowledge of Texas court procedures and litigation practices.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and effectively in a remote environment.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage first-party property litigation matters from inception through resolution
• Develop litigation strategy and provide practical legal advice to clients
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, subpoenas, correspondence, briefs, and other legal documents
• Take and defend depositions and prepare witnesses for testimony
• Handle hearings, mediations, conferences, arbitrations, and trials as appropriate
• Analyze insurance policies, property claims, damages, expert reports, and supporting documentation
• Conduct investigations, interviews, document review, and legal research
• Prepare exhibits and case materials for depositions, hearings, and trial
• Evaluate cases for settlement and negotiate resolutions when appropriate
• Maintain regular client communication regarding case developments, exposure, and strategy
• Manage deadlines and a litigation caseload with a high degree of independence
