Job summary

Orion Placement seeks an associate attorney with first-party property litigation experience for a fully remote role, based in the United States with residency within 75 miles of New Brunswick, NJ. You will manage cases from pre-litigation through resolution, draft pleadings, conduct legal research, and coordinate with clients, opposing counsel, and courts.

Active NY or NJ Bar in good standing is required; candidates with dual licensure are preferred.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school and active license in good standing with NY or NJ Bar.
• 1+ year of directly relevant first-party property litigation experience.
• Ideally 3+ years as a practicing associate attorney with strong civil litigation knowledge.
• Excellent written, verbal, analytical, organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to independently manage priorities and deadlines; travel locally for hearings as required.

Responsibilities

• Manage first-party property litigation matters from pre-litigation through resolution.
• Provide legal advice and strategic guidance to clients throughout each matter.
• Draft and review pleadings, motions, discovery, notices, subpoenas and related documents.
• Organize and summarize records; prepare exhibits and witnesses for depositions, hearings, and trials.
• Conduct factual investigations, legal research, and analyze statutes and case law.
• Evaluate case strengths/risks and communicate with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and team.
