Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Senior Software Technical Program Manager to drive planning, execution, and delivery of device software (firmware) programs for the on-the-go product line in Sunnyvale, CA. You will own cross-functional programs from concept through launch, partnering with engineering, product, and operations to deliver scalable, on-time solutions.

Qualifications

• 7+ years working directly with engineering teams.
• 5+ years technical product or program management.
• 3+ years software development experience.
• 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Drive device firmware development and release through cross-functional collaboration across software, hardware, quality, and operations teams.
• Lead and influence stakeholders to assemble project teams, assign responsibilities, identify resources, and develop schedules to ensure timely completion of projects by meeting milestones.
• Assess risks, anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, make tradeoffs, and balance business needs vs technical constraints.
• Define and own program strategy, and long-term planning in partnership with engineering and product leadership to align on priorities and timelines.
• Establish, track, and report on key performance metrics and program health indicators; provide regular status updates to senior leadership.
• Drive continuous process improvement across the software development lifecycle to increase velocity and improve release quality.
• Foster a culture of operational excellence by documenting best practices and scalable mechanisms across the organization.
