Job summary

EVONA is seeking a Firmware Engineer to own embedded firmware for mission-critical autonomous ocean vehicles built on STM32 platforms. You will drive architecture, development, and integration while collaborating with hardware and systems engineers.

Ideal candidates have 7+ years in embedded systems, deep STM32 knowledge, and strong C skills. This onsite Cambridge-based role offers field deployment opportunities and a chance to work on cutting-edge ocean robotics.

Qualifications

7+ years in embedded systems with bare-metal/RTOS.
Proven STM32 firmware experience with HAL/LL and peripherals.
Experience with CAN/UART/SPI/I2C/RS-485.
Strong C programming and embedded design practices.
Ability to bring up hardware and develop test frameworks.

Responsibilities

Develop embedded firmware for autonomous ocean vehicles in C for STM32 platforms.
Architect and evolve STM32 firmware libraries, HALs, and modular codebases.
Bring up new hardware, including bootloaders and peripheral drivers.
Collaborate with hardware during integration and lab testing.
Build automated test frameworks and CI pipelines for firmware.
Support sea trials and field deployments, debugging in the field.
Contribute to disciplined engineering with clear documentation.
