Job summary

Form Energy is hiring a Senior Firmware Engineer to join our growing Software Engineering organization. This team owns the firmware stack that drives our multi-day battery system, delivering performance and reliability for grid-scale storage.

You will contribute to productized battery management and control software across the stack in a fast-moving environment with a mission to transform energy storage. Relocation assistance is available, and the role involves travel up to 20% in the first year

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in electrical or computer engineering or related field.
4+ years of firmware development experience for embedded and RTOS systems.
Experience with C/C++ for embedded real-time control applications.
Knowledge of I2C and SPI, Modbus and CAN protocols.
Familiarity with schematics and hardware interfaces.

Responsibilities

Develop microcontroller firmware for embedded systems and BMS hardware.
Derive software/hardware specs to meet UL 1998 and UL 5500 standards.
Collaborate with Systems Team to define concepts and optimize designs.
Troubleshoot and debug firmware in field environments for performance and reliability.
Contribute to unit/integration testing to enable continuous delivery of firmware.
Adhere to firmware engineering processes and best practices.
Travel up to 20% in the first year.
