Job Title: Senior Firmware Engineer – Connectivity
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Firmware Engineer – Connectivity to design, develop, integrate, and validate wireless firmware for embedded products connected to the ONE-KEY™ ecosystem and cloud platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in embedded C++, ARM Cortex microcontrollers, Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), and bare-metal firmware development.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop embedded C++ firmware for wireless connectivity on 32-bit ARM Cortex microcontrollers using bare-metal architecture.
- Implement, integrate, debug, and troubleshoot Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) functionality using wireless modules, SoCs, and vendor SDKs.
- Diagnose complex connectivity issues involving application firmware, drivers, BSP, protocol stacks, timing, and hardware interfaces.
- Translate product requirements into firmware specifications, design documents, test plans, and implementation strategies.
- Perform unit, functional, and integration testing, and support test automation within CI/CD pipelines.
- Debug firmware and hardware interactions using JTAG/SWD debuggers, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and spectrum or protocol analyzers.
- Collaborate with hardware, mechanical, cloud, application, product, and reliability teams to resolve technical issues and deliver production-ready firmware.
- Work with component suppliers on hardware integration, design decisions, and root-cause analysis.
- Use Git and Azure DevOps for source control, work-item tracking, code reviews, and CI/CD activities.
- Own firmware deliverables from investigation and implementation through validation, documentation, and production handoff.
- Participate in Agile development practices, provide regular progress updates, and proactively communicate risks and project status.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of embedded firmware development experience using C++.
- Strong hands‑on experience with 32‑bit ARM Cortex microcontrollers.
- Proven experience developing and debugging production bare‑metal firmware.
- Strong Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) experience, including firmware development, integration, debugging, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with interrupt handling, timing‑critical operations, peripheral drivers, and hardware interfaces.
- Proficiency in embedded debugging using JTAG/SWD and hardware diagnostic tools.
- Experience with Git, Azure DevOps, and CI/CD workflows.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem‑solving, communication, and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with wireless modules, BLE SoCs, and vendor‑specific SDKs.
- Knowledge of embedded communication protocols and low‑level hardware interfaces.
- Experience with automated firmware testing and production release processes.
