Job summary

Normal Computing is seeking a seasoned Firmware Engineer to build low-level software for our SOCs, bridging physics-inspired ASICs with higher software layers. You will design, implement, and verify firmware running on microcontrollers, and define the development environment for a production-grade shipping product.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in firmware development.
• Experience specifying and creating a firmware development environment for a shipping product.
• Expertise in various firmware languages and target architectures.
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop firmware for an embedded processor on an SOC to support an API bridging software and hardware layers.
• Collaborate with software and hardware engineers to specify API requirements.
• Create and configure the development environment with compilers, simulators, and debuggers across multiple environments.
• Develop a verification and stress test plan to guarantee production-quality firmware.
