Samsara is seeking a hands-on technical leader for the Safety Firmware Team. This remote role supports candidates in the US and Canada and focuses on building high-performance video and AI-driven safety solutions, from device firmware to cloud services.

Qualifications

10+ years designing, developing, and deploying software for embedded systems.
Experience leading complex, high-impact projects with multiple dependencies.
Experience shipping firmware, backend services, and frontend/web components.

Responsibilities

Own outcomes end-to-end, from vague customer problem to shipped, measured feature across firmware, Go backend, and web/mobile surfaces.
Drive technology choices, implement embedded and firmware solutions, and establish architectural patterns with broad impact.
Leverage voice interfaces and AI Agents, ensuring edge AI accuracy within device constraints.
Design for the whole system, including device constraints, connectivity, and cloud services.
Partner with Hardware, Backend, Web, Mobile, Product, and Customer Success teams to deliver impact.
