Job summary

Laser Technology, Inc. is seeking a Lead Firmware Software Engineer in Centennial, CO to drive embedded firmware for laser rangefinders and related systems. You will balance leadership with hands-on coding while guiding a team of firmware engineers to deliver robust solutions.

You will work across hardware and software teams, architect interfaces, and review designs to ensure quality releases. Strong C/C++ and bare metal experience, plus driver development for IMU/sensors, are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
• 10+ years of relevant industry experience
• Proven product release history
• Experience with version control systems (GitLab, etc.) and bug tracking tools
• Strong background in C/C++ firmware development, including bare metal programming
• Strong background in writing low level device drivers (IMU, magnetometer, environmental sensors, ADC, GPIO, SPI, I2C, UART, Bluetooth)
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions and implement and test fixes
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Architect, implement, test and deploy robust firmware within program timelines
• Leads software architecture and failure analysis reviews
• Collaborates with hardware engineers to evaluate and design firmware interfaces
• Mentors junior engineers and balances leadership with coding
• Debug, troubleshoot, and validate to ensure specifications
• Support new product development and sustaining existing products
