Job summary

Acacia (part of Cisco) in Maynard, MA seeks an Embedded Software Engineering Technical Leader to guide firmware architecture for high-reliability transceiver subsystems. Qualifications

• 12+ years of professional embedded software experience.
• 10+ years in low-level embedded C and C++ for resource-constrained hardware.
• 8+ years RTOS experience (VxWorks, FreeRTOS, ThreadX or similar).
• Experience with ARM Cortex-M/R cores, BSPs, and device drivers.
• Willingness to work 100% onsite in Maynard, MA during onboarding.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end architecture and implementation of embedded firmware for multi-core microcontrollers.
• Collaborate with ASIC, DSP, Optical, and Hardware teams to design interfaces and resolve hardware/software boundary challenges.
• Architect robust multi-threaded firmware, BSPs, drivers, and real-time state machines on bare-metal and RTOS platforms.
• Set firmware engineering standards and mentor senior and intermediate engineers across the software organization.
• Provide technical direction to scale our engineering footprint in the community.
