Job summary

Acacia, part of Cisco, is seeking an Embedded Software Engineering Technical Leader in Maynard, MA, to guide the firmware architecture for Acacia’s transceiver subsystems and future SOCs. You will lead the design of high-reliability, low-latency firmware for multi-core microcontrollers and collaborate with ASIC, DSP, and Hardware teams to define robust interfaces.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics/CS and 12+ years in low-level embedded C/C++, plus 8+ years with RTOS

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 12+ years of professional embedded software experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end architecture, design, and implementation of high-reliability embedded firmware.
• Collaborate with ASIC, DSP, Optical, and Hardware teams to align HW/SW interfaces.
• Architect multi-threaded control-plane firmware, BSPs, device drivers, and RTOS state machines.
• Set firmware engineering standards, mentor engineers, and drive cross-functional alignment.
• Provide technical direction to scale the engineering presence in the community.
