Job summary

MUSC Health is seeking an Information Security Specialist/Engineer III to strengthen enterprise cyber defense capabilities. You will lead threat intelligence, vulnerability management, adversary emulation, and incident response readiness, while coordinating with clinical, operational, and technology stakeholders to mitigate risk.

The role designs and improves cybersecurity tools, detections, dashboards, workflows, and documentation, ensuring reliable asset visibility and alert fidelity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree, or associate’s degree and equivalent work experience.
• Eight or more years of experience in cybersecurity, security operations, threat intelligence, vulnerability management, incident response, or related technical functions.
• Role-relevant certification such as CISSP, CASP+/SecurityX, CCSP, CISM, GCIA, GCIH, GCFA, GCFE, GPEN, or equivalent.
• Excellent interpersonal, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to lead complex analysis and engineering work, improve security tools/workflows, validate detections, influence remediation decisions, mentor peers, and communicate risk.

Responsibilities

• Lead threat intelligence and analysis efforts and drive incident response readiness.
• Oversee vulnerability management, detection engineering, and security operations programs.
• Plan, coordinate, and execute adversary emulation and purple team activities.
• Design, tune, and integrate cybersecurity tools, dashboards, and workflows.
• Mentor peers and communicate risk and recommendations to technical and non‑technical audiences.
