Job summary

GuidePoint Security, LLC is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to design, deploy, and optimize firewall configurations across Palo Alto and Checkpoint environments, including Prisma Access and centralized management platforms.

You will handle day-to-day firewall operations, collaborate with network and security teams, and implement security best practices. A PCCSA or higher certification and extensive firewall experience are required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Network Security experience (Enterprise network experience preferred).
• Strong/Expert Level Palo Alto and Checkpoint (Cloud) firewall configuration/engineering experience.
• Hands-on experience with Prisma Access configuration and deployment.
• User Experience with Palo Alto Networks Panorama for centralized management.
• Palo Alto Networks Certified Cybersecurity Associate (PCCSA) or higher certification.
• Strong Routing and Switching knowledge with Firewall integration.
• Experience managing Large Firewall Deployments (50+ Firewalls).
• User Experience with Splunk for log analysis and troubleshooting.
• Embraces emerging technologies, including AI tools, to work smarter, solve problems, and drive better business outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage firewall policies across Palo Alto and Checkpoint (Cloud) virtual firewalls.
• Configure and optimize firewall rules to meet business and security requirements.
• Implement security best practices for firewall configurations and policy management.
• Configure and manage Prisma Access for secure remote access and cloud-delivered security services.
• Integrate Prisma Access with existing security infrastructure.
• Utilize Strata Cloud Manager and Palo Alto Panorama for centralized management and deployment.
• Manage Checkpoint Cloud configurations through centralized platforms.
• Process and implement firewall change requests following change control procedures.
• Troubleshoot firewall connectivity and policy issues.
• Collaborate with network and security teams on firewall-related projects.
• Leverage Strata Cloud Manager and FireMon Security Manager for configuration management.
