Job summary

CACI International Inc. seeks a SME Network Engineer (Firewall) to lead global firewall architectures and modernization efforts under the GMOS contract for the Department of State.

You will guide cross-functional teams, design secure, scalable firewall solutions, and ensure compliance with federal policies. A strong background in NGFWs, web application firewalls, and DevSecOps is essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 13+ years in network engineering, security, or related fields.
• Active Secret Clearance required.
• Experience leading enterprise firewall architectures in large federal environments.
• Expertise with NGFWs, web application firewalls, high availability, and threat mitigation.
• Strong background in DevSecOps tooling and CI/CD pipeline design.
• Proven ability to manage budgets and staffing decisions.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and management leadership for firewall implementations across global infrastructure.
• Lead troubleshooting of complex firewall issues and coordinate with government agencies.
• Define enterprise firewall design, rules, and troubleshooting across 350+ facilities.
• Develop HA load balancing and threat mitigation strategies using modern security tech.
• Coordinate with Firewall Advisory Board for enterprise policy compliance.
• Tune network components to maintain performance and availability globally.
• Develop firewall standards, procedures, and performance management docs.
• Excel in DevSecOps tooling and construct advanced CI/CD pipelines.
• Create strategic roadmaps for firewall modernization and security architecture.
• Provide leadership on major assignments, budgeting, staffing, and methodology.
