Job summary

Leidos' Digital Modernization sector seeks a Senior Firewall Engineer for the Pentagon, 100% on-site. Design, implement, and manage firewall solutions to secure network infrastructure using Cisco ASA/Firepower, Juniper SRX, and Palo Alto.

The role requires DoD TS/SCI clearance, DoD-focused firewall leadership, and collaboration with IT and Security teams to enforce policies and maintain compliance.

Qualifications

• Active DoD TS/SCI security clearance.
• DoD 8140 - Cyber Defense Infrastructure Specialist Intermediate certs (CEH, CySA+, Security+ etc).
• Juniper, Cisco, or Palo Alto certification required prior to start.
• BS degree + 12+ years of directly relevant experience; DoD experience preferred.
• 3+ years of firewall experience within the DoD environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and manage firewall solutions using Cisco ASA/Firepower, Juniper SRX and Palo Alto.
• Monitor firewall performance and security logs to identify and mitigate threats.
• Develop and enforce network security policies and procedures.
• Perform system audits to ensure compliance with standards and regulations.
• Collaborate with IT, Security and Network teams to integrate firewall solutions.
• Troubleshoot and document firewall issues in ticket systems.
• Maintain firewall configurations and change management approvals.
• Lead the Firewall Task Area: focal point, timely task delivery, reports to Government Lead and PMO.
