Job summary

Leidos seeks an experienced Firewall Engineer for the DISA IT Operation in Arlington, VA, to support the GSM-O II contract. The role requires 10+ years in hands-on firewall and security engineering in virtualized and cloud environments.

The candidate will lead Palo Alto deployments, Panorama configurations, and security best practices, providing Tier 3 support and ensuring compliance with DoD STIGs. On-site with occasional travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of directly relevant experience; additional experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
• 5+ years of hands-on Cisco / Palo Alto Firewall experience in engineering and operations/maintenance roles.
• Strong knowledge of Palo Alto concepts: Panorama installation, HA config, template stacks, policy creation & push, route config, VPN, VM in AWS, IPSec, virtual router, firewall HA.

Responsibilities

• Identify and remediate misconfigurations, security gaps, and optimize firewall/load balancer security.
• Provide Tier 3 support to network administrations.
• Maintain hardware/software at vendor-supported levels and support COOP.
• Develop assessments and reports for firewall configurations and performance.
