Job summary

Forge Search partners with a firearms manufacturer to recruit a Compliance Manager responsible for regulatory compliance across manufacturing and distribution. You will ensure ATF/NFA, ITAR, and DoD-related requirements are met, develop policies, and oversee training and audits.

The role calls for leadership of the Compliance Administrator, collaboration with executive leadership, and proactive risk-based decision-making to support growth while minimizing regulatory risk.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant compliance experience within firearms, defense, or a related regulated industry.
• Direct experience with ATF regulations and National Firearms Act (NFA) compliance, including firearms registration, transfers, and recordkeeping.
• Experience maintaining ATF forms, bound books, and serialized inventory records.
• Working knowledge of ITAR regulations, export licensing, and DoD contracting requirements.
• Experience developing, implementing, or maintaining regulatory compliance policies and procedures.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to interpret complex regulations and communicate requirements clearly across all levels of an organization.
• Must meet applicable U.S. person and export-control eligibility requirements.

Responsibilities

• Oversee regulatory compliance related to firearms manufacturing, distribution, registration, and transfers, including NFA-regulated products.
• Develop, maintain, and enforce compliance policies and procedures in accordance with ATF, NFA, ITAR, and applicable DoD requirements.
• Ensure accurate preparation and maintenance of ATF forms, bound book records, and serialized inventory documentation.
• Manage export compliance, licensing, and distribution channel requirements.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for ATF, NFA branches, and law enforcement regarding compliance matters.
• Conduct internal audits of business processes, documentation, and physical inventory controls.
• Monitor regulatory and legislative changes and update internal policies and training accordingly.
• Supervise the Compliance Administrator and ensure compliance procedures are consistently followed.
• Partner with leadership and internal departments to identify potential risks and implement effective solutions.
• Support government and DoD contracting activities, including applicable import and export requirements.
