Job summary

Averity is seeking a Compliance Manager to own its firearm regulatory compliance function, overseeing ATF/NFA, ITAR, export controls and DoD requirements across manufacturing and distribution. You will interpret complex rules, train teams, and drive pragmatic, risk-based direction while coordinating with leadership.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in regulated manufacturing compliance, ownership of compliance programs, and strong abilities to translate regulations into actionable policies, with

Qualifications

• 5+ years of regulatory/compliance experience in firearms/defense manufacturing.
• Direct experience with ATF/NFA-regulated products.
• Experience owning a compliance program or significant portions of one.
• Working knowledge of ITAR, export licensing and DoD requirements.
• Experience writing policies, procedures or work instructions.
• Experience training employees on compliance requirements.
• Experience conducting or leading regulatory/internal audits.
• Familiarity with serialized inventory and physical product controls.
• Ability to communicate with executives and operating teams without roadblocks.

Responsibilities

• Own regulatory compliance across manufacturing and distribution.
• Own ATF/NFA compliance, export licensing and DoD requirements.
• Serve as Responsible Person on the company’s license.
• Work with ATF, NFA branches, law enforcement and regulators.
• Maintain ATF forms, Bound Book records and serialized inventory.
• Monitor regulatory developments affecting production and export.
• Translate regulatory changes into policies, procedures and work instructions.
• Develop and maintain internal compliance controls.
• Train employees and operational teams.
• Conduct internal audits of processes and documentation.
• Prepare for and help lead ATF or other regulatory audits.
• Manage the company’s Compliance Administrator.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, shipping, inventory, finance and leadership.
• Support import/export requirements and government contracting activity.
