Job summary

M.C. Dean, headquartered in Tysons, Virginia, seeks an experienced sprinkler systems specialist to lead inspections, testing, and troubleshooting across various fire protection systems. You will supervise technicians, document analyses and recommendations, and help ensure code compliance on multiple projects.

Ideal candidates hold NICET II, NFPA/NFPA 25 knowledge, and are prepared for a background check; a Top-Secret clearance eligibility is required for access to certain assignments.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma / GED (required) with 8 + years of relevant experience or 2 years technology degree and 6 + years of relevant experience.
• This position has been identified as requiring an additional client background check.
• NICET II in Inspection and Testing of Water-Based Systems is required; pass NICET II exam within 90 days of employment.
• State Backflow Certification (Preferred).
• Fire Pump Test Certification (Preferred).
• Knowledge of NFPA 25, NFPA 13, NEC, Fire Sprinkler System Theory, OSHA Requirements and Industry Standards for Fire sprinkler systems installation.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee inspection, advanced testing, and troubleshooting of sprinkler and pre-action systems and components.
• Inspect and test fire alarm, special hazard systems, kitchen hoods and pre-action systems.
• Diagnose and resolve complex sprinkler system issues and maintain detailed service records.
• Supervise and mentor junior technicians; provide guidance and training.
• Participate in project planning, system design, and implementation to enhance sprinkler functionality.
• Stay informed about NFPA codes and industry standards to ensure compliance.
