Job summary

Actalent is seeking an experienced Fire Sprinkler Designer to create and review fire protection sprinkler systems for diverse building types. You will develop detailed layouts with AutoCAD, Autosprink, Hydracad, and Revit, coordinate with BIM teams, and participate in fieldwork as needed to ensure code compliance and quality assurance.

The role emphasizes heavy design production, with site visits and collaboration across internal and external teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in fire sprinkler design.
• Strong background in fire protection design and sprinkler system layout.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD for fire sprinkler and fire protection design.
• Experience designing sprinkler systems for multifamily, data centers, and government facilities.
• Knowledge of fire protection codes, standards, and best practices.

Responsibilities

• Design fire protection sprinkler systems for various building types and facilities.
• Complete engineering requests following established practices and policies.
• Develop detailed sprinkler layout drawings using AutoCAD, Autosprink, Hydracad, and Revit.
• Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, and code compliance.
• Conduct site visits to verify conditions and gather design information.
• Participate in BIM coordination to integrate designs with other disciplines.
• Collaborate with teams and partners to clarify requirements and support delivery.
• Maintain organized project files and design documentation.
• Contribute to heavy design production workloads and meet deadlines.
• Apply fire protection principles to develop reliable sprinkler solutions.
