Job summary

Jobot in Los Angeles seeks an experienced Fire Sprinkler Design Engineer to design and implement fire sprinkler systems for commercial and industrial projects, ensuring NFPA compliance and high safety standards. You will collaborate with architects, engineers, and construction teams to deliver tailored protection solutions.

Required skills include CAD drafting, hydraulic calculations, BIM design, and familiarity with HydraCAD and AutoSPRINK.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, or related field is required.
• NICET certification in Fire Protection Engineering Technology – Water-Based Systems Layout is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and layout of fire sprinkler systems using specialized software.
• Perform hydraulic calculations to ensure system performance.
• Interpret and apply NFPA codes and standards to design projects.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, and construction to integrate sprinkler systems into building design.
• Prepare reports and drawings and present design proposals to clients.
• Use BIM Design and Clash Detection to identify and resolve issues.
• Design and layout of fire pump systems per standards.
• Utilize HydraCAD, AutoSPRINK and related software.
• Maintain knowledge of new technologies and industry trends.
• Ensure all designs comply with health and safety guidelines.
