Job summary

NV5 is seeking a Fire Protection Engineering Consultant to work on customer-facing projects, collaborating with AHJs and clients to ensure compliance and timely delivery from home. The role requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, EIT pass, and eligibility to sit for the PE exam within 4 years.

You will travel up to 50% across the US/Canada, interfacing with jurisdictional authorities and delivering compliant fire protection solutions while maintaining organized, detailed project records.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and certification(s).
• Must have passed the EIT exam and be able to sit for the PE within ~4 years.
• Applicants must be able to travel up to 50% across US/Canada.
• Authorized to work in the United States is required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineering/design teams on projects and provide cost‑effective solutions.
• Develop and deliver client reports on updates for compliance and operation.
• Provide code references and document research for fire protection guidance.
• Meet with authorities and clients to resolve compliance questions.
• Stay current with changing codes, standards, and industry practices.
