Job summary

SAIC in Chantilly, VA is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer to join our team. The role focuses on life safety compliance, enterprise governance, and DoD regulations to protect personnel, mission, and facilities.

You will review design documents, support project managers, witness testing, and contribute to audits and policy development. Applicants must be able to obtain TS/SCI with Polygraph and hold a related degree with several years of experience.

Qualifications

Must be able to obtain TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering.
Five years’ experience with facilities fire protection projects.
Certifications: ICC Fire Plans Examiner (F3), ICC General Plans Examiner (B3), ICC CN Commercial Fire Alarms Plan Examiner I, NFPA Certified Fire Plans Examiner, or equivalent DoD certification.

Responsibilities

Serve as a Fire Protection Engineering SME for client locations.
Review design documents to validate codes and identify optimal fire protection solutions.
Support project managers by evaluating issues and recommendations.
Witness acceptance testing and commissioning of fire protection systems.
Prepare governance, SOPs, and facility design standards.
Conduct fire safety audits and inspections of new construction.
