Job summary

Cuhaci Peterson is seeking an experienced Fire Protection Engineer with a Bachelor of Science in Fire Protection Engineering and 10–15 years of licensed work experience. The engineer will serve as Engineer of Record in multiple states and lead project teams through construction documents, permitting, bidding, and construction administration.

The role requires strong knowledge of codes, excellent communication, leadership, and the ability to mentor junior staff while coordinating with architects

Qualifications

• A BS in Fire Protection Engineering is required.
• Minimum 10–15 years of licensed engineering experience.
• Engineer of Record in multiple states.

Responsibilities

• Implement engineering projects including Construction Documents, coordination with other disciplines, permitting, bidding and construction administration.
• Ensure high quality assurance on documents, specifications and RFIs.
• Able to complete the job requirement of Project Engineer successfully.
• Research, develop and keep updated with latest design in coordination with vendor, senior engineer and other online resources.
• Excellent knowledge of discipline specific codes and other building codes.
• Communicate design scoping, schedule, budget and issues with project teams and clients.
• Lead design coordination with architectural and engineering disciplines.
• Oversee the design and production of engineering construction documents and specifications.
• Mentor and train engineering designers to produce high quality construction documents within budget.
• Represent the client's interests at meetings or hearings when needed.
