Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer to work with designers and engineers on critical nuclear project support at our Oak Ridge, TN center and other sites. You will assess life safety, fire protection systems, and compliance with NFPA, DOE, and DOD standards while guiding multi-discipline teams.

This role requires deep experience, strong technical writing, and the ability to communicate complex concepts to stakeholders. Travel as needed; U.S. citizenship and security considerations apply.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in industrial fire protection and life safety.
• Experience with NFPA, DOE, DOD, API, ICC, FM Global data sheets.
• Knowledge of high-hazard facilities and nuclear materials handling.
• Proven ability to lead engineering deliverables and schedules.

Responsibilities

• Develop engineering deliverables, scope, budgets, and schedules.
• Perform fire/hazard analyses and fire modeling.
• Communicate complex concepts to stakeholders and clients.
