Zusammenfassung

DLR Group seeks a Senior Fire Protection Engineer to lead fire protection design from schematic design through construction administration across Federal, K-12, Healthcare, Higher Education, Justice, Sports and Culture projects. You will collaborate closely with the mechanical engineering team to develop drawings and perform required calculations.

The successful candidate will lead fire protection teams, manage project budgets and schedules, and ensure quality across firmwide design services

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related engineering.
• 7+ years of experience in the design and analysis of fire protection systems within the built environment.
• Active Fire Protection PE licensure required.
• Experience with both new construction and retrofit of fire protection systems.
• Strong knowledge of IBC, IFC, and NFPA codes and standards.
• Excellent verbal, written, and organizational communication across teams.

Aufgaben

• Lead fire protection engineering teams across regions with technical leadership and mentorship.
• Manage planning, execution, and delivery of fire protection design services firmwide.
• Develop scopes of work, budgets, proposals, and design strategies.
• Prepare and review fire and life safety analyses and code compliance reviews.
• Oversee production, coordination, and QA of documents and reports.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, AHJs to support permitting and approvals.
• Lead construction administration activities including submittals and site observations.
• Support business development through client relationships and proposals.
