Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company seeks a seasoned fire protection engineer for its Rock Hill, SC or Cranberry, PA facilities. The role blends on-site collaboration with remote work in a hybrid setup, reporting to the Director of Fire Protection.

Responsibilities include fire detection/alarm, suppression and life-safety design, with an emphasis on codes, standards, and nuclear-safety expectations. A PE license and 5+ years of experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical field
• 5+ years of fire protection engineering experience
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent
• Experience in performance-based fire safety design and interpretation of codes and standards

Responsibilities

• Perform fire protection design, assessment, analysis, field-support, and program-support tasks
• Prepare design inputs, calculations, and layouts with markups and narratives
• Apply codes, standards, licensing requirements, and safety expectations to work
• Identify issues, assumptions, inputs, design conflicts and escalation needs
• Support development of estimates, proposals, execution plans and staffing inputs
