Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer to perform design, assessment, and program-support activities with emphasis on detection, alarm, suppression, and life-safety systems. You will prepare design inputs, calculations, and narratives and apply codes and safety standards.

You will be based at Rock Hill, SC or Cranberry, PA with a hybrid schedule, reporting to the Director of Fire Protection and collaborating across teams to ensure compliance and high-quality

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of related professional experience in fire protection, engineering technology, design or consulting services.
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical education.
• Professional registration/certification (PE, NICET, CFPS, etc.).
• Expertise in performance-based fire safety design and life safety analysis.

Responsibilities

• Perform fire protection design, assessment, analysis, field-support, and program-support activities.
• Prepare design inputs, calculations, layouts, and narratives including reports and technical correspondence.
• Apply codes, standards, and safety expectations to assigned work.
• Identify issues, missing inputs, and design or compliance concerns requiring clarification.
• Support development of estimates, proposals, schedules, and staffing inputs.
