Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company seeks a Senior Fire Protection Engineer to perform moderately to highly complex fire protection design, assessment, and program-support activities, with emphasis on detection, alarm, suppression, life safety, and code interpretation.

You will report to the Director, Fire Protection and be located at Rock Hill, SC or Cranberry, PA with a hybrid schedule that blends on-site collaboration with remote work.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of related professional experience in fire protection, engineering technology, design or consulting services.
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical education.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license, Limited License, C.E.T., NICET, CFPS, or other relevant professional registration, certification.
• Demonstrated expertise in performance‑based fire safety design, fire modeling, life safety analysis, and interpretation of fire and building codes and standards

Responsibilities

• Perform fire protection design, assessment, analysis, field support and program support.
• Prepare complete first-pass deliverables such as design inputs, calculations, and layouts including markups, specifications, technical evaluations, and reports.
• Apply applicable codes, standards, licensing-basis requirements, and nuclear safety expectations to assigned work.
• Identify technical issues, missing inputs, design conflicts, field constraints, quality concerns, and escalation needs.
• Support development of estimates, proposals, technical approaches, schedules, execution plans, and staffing inputs for assigned work
