Josh Pros LLC in Charlotte, NC is seeking an experienced Fire Protection Engineer to lead design for life-safety systems in healthcare facilities. You will prepare fire protection and mechanical construction drawings, act as Engineer of Record, and mentor junior engineers in a collaborative, in-office setting.

Qualified candidates have 8+ years as a PE, current FPE license, NCEES registration, and a ABET‑accredited engineering degree.

Qualifications

• Licensed PE with FPE license and NCEES registration.
• 8+ years of healthcare-specific project experience.
• ABET-accredited engineering degree required.
• Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD MEP, Trace 3D, and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design of fire protection and plumbing systems for healthcare facilities.
• Perform system calculations, Life Cycle Cost Analysis (LCCA), and equipment selections.
• Develop detailed construction documents and project specifications.
• Ensure designs comply with NFPA 13, 20, 99, ASHRAE and IBC standards.
• Conduct field investigations, site visits, and inspections to verify implementation.
• Act as Engineer of Record and mentor junior staff.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and clients.
