Job summary

Luminant Generation Company LLC in Irving, TX seeks an experienced Fire Protection Engineer to support and enhance fire protection systems across the power generation fleet. This role oversees design, lifecycle management, and compliance with NFPA standards to reduce risk and maintain safe plant operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related discipline required.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is preferred for fire protection.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in fire protection within industrial or power-generation environments.
• Strong knowledge of NFPA standards (13, 20, 22, 2001, 12, 72, 25, 850, 750).

Responsibilities

• Lead design review and technical evaluation of fire protection systems.
• Define detailed project scopes for upgrades, retrofits, and new installations.
• Manage contractors and review submittals, shop drawings, and test documentation.
• Support ITM programs and ensure compliance with NFPA 25.
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, engineering, and EHS teams.
