Job summary

Jensen Hughes in Seattle, WA, seeks an experienced Senior Fire Protection Consultant/Engineer to lead building and fire code consulting, fire protection systems, and performance-based design. The role involves plan reviews, strategy development, and coordination with design teams and authorities having jurisdiction.

The successful candidate will have 8+ years in fire protection engineering, PE or NICET certification, and strong communication and project management skills to drive client

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in code consulting, design of fire suppression and alarm systems, and developing performance-based strategies in a project design environment.
• Registered Professional Engineer license, NICET certification, or equivalent required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven project management experience.

Responsibilities

• Management and implementation of a wide variety of engineering design and consulting projects.
• Satisfy client needs and expectations by completing assigned tasks on schedule and within budget.
• Coordinate and conduct building and fire code reviews and analyses, including plan reviews and site visits.
• Preparation and peer review of project-related technical reports.
• Develop fire protection strategies, performance-based design approaches, and alternative solutions to resolve client design issues.
• Effectively communicate with project team members, clients, and others.
• Support business development and client relationship management efforts in the sub-region (10-20% of role). Senior consultants are anticipated to foster a “seller doer” mentality.
