Job summary

Garver Engineering seeks a Fire Protection Engineer in Dallas, Texas to lead design and delivery of fire protection, suppression and alarm systems on Buildings Business Line projects. You will coordinate with disciplines, mentor staff, manage budgets and schedules, and use Revit for construction drawings; travel may be required.

The ideal candidate brings ABET-accredited engineering education, PE licensure, and 5–10 years of building design experience with strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET accredited university or college.
• Licensed Professional Engineer having passed the Fire Protection examination.
• 5-10 years of building design and construction industry experience.
• Strong knowledge base of fire protection engineering principals related to building fire protection designs.
• Proven experience overseeing fire protection designs, including detailed plans and specifications for building projects.
• Strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop fire protection designs in support of various Buildings Business Line projects.
• Lead the planning, design, and commissioning of building fire protection systems, building fire suppression systems, and building fire alarm systems.
• Coordinate with other support disciplines and regional offices.
• Assist project managers in project management activities.
• Follow quality assurance and quality control plans.
• Travel periodically to project sites.
