Job summary

Garver Engineering is seeking a Fire Protection Designer in Dallas, TX, to develop fire protection, suppression, and alarm systems for building projects. The role involves coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams, regional offices, and engineers to deliver design and commissioning activities.

Responsibilities include using BIM tools to produce drawings, running design calculations, managing timelines and budgets, and ensuring quality through QA/QC plans.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of building fire protection design and construction experience.
• Knowledge of fire protection engineering principles related to building fire protection designs.
• Proven experience with fire protection designs, including detailed plans and specifications for building projects.
• Strong communication and team collaboration skills.
• Experience with Autodesk Revit.
• Proficient with MS Office Suite.
• NICET certification in Fire Protection (preferred).
• Experience with AIA MasterSpec (preferred).
• Knowledge of Federal Agencies design criteria (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Lead fire protection design of building projects across the project lifecycle (concept, design, construction).
• Coordinate with project teams and regional offices to ensure design alignment.
• Produce construction drawings using BIM (Autodesk Revit) and related tools.
• Perform design calculations with software-based tools.
• Manage multiple assignments with attention to time and quality, following QA/QC plans.
