Job summary

Summit Fire & Security is seeking a Sr. Designer to operate with minimal supervision on complex fire protection designs. You will design sprinkler systems, perform hydraulic calculations, and prepare submittals for AHJs, while coordinating with contractors and attending kickoff meetings.

Requirements include 5–10 years of sprinkler design experience, HS diploma, and NICET II/III or state certification. Proficiency in HydraCad and MS Office is preferred, with a valid driver's license and

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent required.
• NICET II/III or state certification required (equivalent considered with pursuing NICET).
• 5–10 years’ experience as sprinkler designer; construction and math skills required.

Responsibilities

• Design automatic sprinkler systems including pumps, tanks, wet, dry and deluge configurations.
• Perform hydraulic calculations for each design and prepare submittal packages.
• Coordinate with contractors and attend design kick-off meetings.
• Prepare fabrication lists and assist field personnel with design issues.
• Submit final close-out documents after acceptance testing.
