Job summary

Summit Fire & Security in Dallas, TX seeks an experienced Sr. Fire Sprinkler Designer to join our Central Design Team. You will design automatic sprinkler systems and collaborate with a high-performing group on critical projects.

The role requires NICET II/III certification (or progress toward III), 3–10 years of design experience, CAD proficiency (AutoSprink, HydraCad), and strong math and fabrication coordination.

Qualifications

• NICET II or NICET III and/or state certification required.
• 3-10 years' experience as sprinkler designer.
• Construction experience, mechanical aptitude, basic and advanced math skills.
• Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Design automatic sprinkler systems including wet, dry, pre-action, deluge, and fire pumps; perform hydraulic calculations.
• Prepare submittal packages for AHJ approval and correspondence for design approvals.
• Coordinate with contractor and participate in design kick-off meetings.
• Prepare fabrication lists and requisition materials; conduct field surveys for design validation.
• Assist field personnel with installation issues and train trainees on fire protection design.
