Job summary

Summit Fire & Security is seeking a Designer to develop sprinkler system designs and submittals with minimal supervision. You will perform hydraulic calculations, prepare AHJ submittals, and coordinate with contractors to ensure design approvals.

The role requires NICET certification or progress toward it, 1–2 years of sprinkler design experience, and proficiency with CAD tools and MS Office. A valid driver's license and adherence to safety policies are essential.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent required.
• NICET II or NICET III and/or state required certification preferred; equivalent experience considered with NICET education pursuit.

Responsibilities

• Design automatic sprinkler systems including various types (wet, dry, pre-action, deluge).
• Perform hydraulic calculations for each design.
• Prepare submittal packages for AHJ approvals.
• Coordinate with contractors and participate in design kick-off meetings.
• Prepare fabrication lists and assist field surveys to ensure design suitability.
• Submit final job close-out documents after acceptance testing.
• Follow safety policies and attend ongoing training to stay current with codes.
