Job summary

Shambaugh & Son, L.P. is seeking a Fire Sprinkler Designer to design Fire Protection Systems for a variety of projects. You will create layouts using AutoCAD and HydraCAD, run hydraulic calculations, and generate pipe lists for pre-fabrication.

The role requires 5+ years of fire protection design experience, NICET preferred, and proficiency with AutoCAD/HydraCAD/AutoSPRINK. A valid driver’s license and strong communication skills are essential for coordinating with teams and clients.

Qualifications

• Associate or Technical Degree in a technical or business discipline preferred or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of Fire Protection design experience required.
• NICET certification preferred.
• AutoCAD experience and/or Hydratec Experience required.
• Valid driver’s license and excellent driving record.
• Excellent communicator, self-motivated with great organizational skills.
• Regular and reliable attendance, including ability to work extended hours and weekends as required.

Responsibilities

• Design and layout of Fire Sprinkler systems.
• Read, analyze and interpret contract documents and drawings.
• Write, plan, coordinate and present to individuals and groups.
• Perform hydraulic calculations and project cost analysis.
• Develop relationships with customers to ensure satisfaction.
• Provide fire sprinkler designs with AutoCAD, HydraCAD, and AutoSPRINK.
• BIM modeling and field surveying responsibilities.
• Provide fabrication lists and coordinate between trades.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

Shambaugh is seeking a Fire Sprinkler Designer who will design Fire Protection Systems for all types of projects. You will design layouts using AutoCAD/HydraCAD and create hydraulic calculations and pipe lists for pre-fabrication.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Responsible for designing and the layout of Fire Sprinkler systems
• Read, analyze and interpret contract documents, including all disciplines of construction drawings and specifications
• Write, plan, coordinate, and make presentations to individuals and groups
• Work with and comprehend mathematical concepts including hydraulic calculations and project cost analysis
• Develop positive and ongoing relationships with customers to ensure satisfaction
• Provide fire sprinkler designs with AutoCAD, HydraCAD, and AutoSPRINK
• Responsible for BIM modeling and field surveying
• Provide lists for fabrication and coordinate between the trades
• Other duties as assigned
